Hello and happy fall!
Can you believe that we’re already in October? It feels like I was celebrating the New Year just yesterday.
Today I will be sharing my September beauty favourites. This is my first monthly favourites post so bear with me as I get the gist of things. With no further ado, let’s get started.
1. Mario Badescu Rose Water
I know this has been all over the internet recently. From celebrities to beauty influencers, everyone has used this. I first used this spray at my cousin’s house before it became so popular. I never thought of purchasing it because I was familiar with the brand and was under the impression that it would be overpriced. Can you imagine my shock when I found out that the 4 oz bottle was just $7?! The price isn’t the ‘cheapest’ but it is reasonable. Half of my bottle from August to the first week of September so I got a good band for my buck. The product itself has a natural floral scent and is very refreshing when applied on the face. It is also soothing so if you are using a harsh acne treatment, this definitely helps.
2. NYX Happy Birthday Palette from Ulta
This is my most expensive palette and it was free so this is a definite score. According to Ulta, it’s valued at $18. This palette is definitely worth it with its highly pigmented, neutral colours. I was really shocked when I first applied the brown shade on my eyelid because the shadows I usually use are dull and need to be built up. I really love the palette and its colours are perfect for fall.
3. Real Techniques Beauty Sponge
My cousin recommended this to me after using my bootleg beauty blender I got from Burlington. At the time, my bootleg beauty blender did not seem that bad but after using the RT sponge, I do not understand how I ever survived with my knock-off. The RT beauty sponge does an amazing job of blending all my liquid and cream products. I especially love the flat edge because it makes blending out the under eye concealer much easier.
Walmart: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Makeup Blender Sponge, $5.92
4. Differin Gel
I started this acne treatment in the third week of August and I can without a doubt say it is one of the best things I have ever done for my face. My skin is smoother, my pores are getting smaller and my spots are slowly but surely fading. I will be doing a full review of this product once I hit the three-month mark.
Walgreens: Differin .1% Acne Gel, $13.99
Amazon: Differin .1% Acne Gel, $11.39
5. Elf Ultimate Blending Brush
I recently bought this brush and have used it each day I wore foundation. The reviews for this are fantastic and a YouTuber I like watching, actually recommend this brush. So far I really like it and it’s actually the only brush I have ever liked to apply foundation.
Walmart: e.l.f. Ultimate Makeup Blending Brush, $6
Amazon: e.l.f. Ultimate Makeup Blending Brush, $6
Target: e.l.f. Ultimate Makeup Blending Brush, $6
6. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I bought this on a whim because L’oreal’s new mascara, ‘Lash Paradise Washable Mascara,’ was more expensive than I had anticipated. It was the best of luck because I found this incredible mascara that really elongated my lashes and made my eyes pop. I really love this mascara and it is quickly becoming one of my faves.
Walmart: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, $6.94
Target: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, $6.59
I really hope you enjoyed my first monthly favourites post. I’m thinking of doing another one that would include things non-beauty such as books, snacks, apps, music etc. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see these 🙂
